12/1/1776- On the SS Berlin
Vein Log,
Wow, my fist entry. This diary was given to me by my commanding officer; it seems my dear companion, Seine, has died
of food poisoning. The conditions on this boat are terrible. We are hot, we cannot sleep, and we share small hammocks with
other men.
We are plagued to fight for King George’s army as mercenaries. Our duke is in debt to his majesty, so in order
to relive him, he sent us to fight alongside the British army. We are forced mercenaries and we are treated like King George’s
second-hand soldiers. In order to live we must obey the duke’s tyranny. We do what we are told, or be shot.
12/15/1776- America
Vein log,
When we first got on the boat we were told that the American colonists that we were to fight were cannibals, savages
who were revolting against their own people. Now that we have fought them, we've learned that they are fighting for something
that they believe in, and that we share a common hardship, tyranny.
King George gives his troops updated modern supplies. At this very moment, we are low on antiseptic, and bullets, but
we know we know it could be worse; we stay strong. "0 ähnliche Ergebnisse für"
We've (The Hessians) took Trenton
Vein log, We've had Trenton for a long time; Ah, we are living in luxury. We have taken Trenton and all
is well. All of the Hessians are occupying we eat only delicate food, we drink every day, and we sit and laugh. Whilst we
laugh in luxury our enemies, the Americans, are living below the average living standards. They live in damp, cold huts. Only
the finest foods and drinks will fit us, I suppose that we will not be ready for the fighting season, sleeping until eight
o' clock in the morning, on the battle field we will surly fall unprepared, but we live for the now, never caring about the
future, laughing in luxury, and forcing the patriot residents of Trenton to cook and clean for us. Ah.
Dec.25, 1776- Trenton, NJ
Vein log,
Today was a wonderful day. All day we ate, slept, and partied.
We knew the colonists would never attack on Christmas since they are Christians, so we weren’t scared of
an attack. I can’t wait till next year. We need a break every year and Christmas is it. Well good
night.
Dec.26, 1776- Trenton, NJ
Today was the worst day ever. The colonists
attacked us at Trenton. Are leader told us to grab are muskets as fast as we could and form together. It didn’t
work though my best friend Albert was shot in the stomach and later died. Everyone was captured or killed. At
first I tried to fight back, but then I realized it was hopeless so I surrendered.
Dec.28, 1776- POW camp, location:
unknown
I have no idea where I am. We will probably sit here till the end of the war.
The British are slowly losing, but you never know the British could come back but probably not. I am, kind
of liking it here it is not so bad I might stay here if I can after the war ends.
Dec, 29, 1784
This is will be my last journal. The war ended a couple years ago. I am so glad I decided to stay
in America. It is so peaceful here. In the end of the war the colonists won. I am kind of glad they won.
The colonists deserve independence since they took on the World’s biggest army and won.
